On Thursday, May 2, TCNF attorney Chris Thomas joined a panel in Bend, Oregon to discuss the rapidly growing popularity of electric bicycles. The panel was held at Deschutes Public House and hosted by Commute Options, an organization that promotes alternative forms of transportation. Fellow panelists included a high school-aged e-bike rider, a Bend e-bike shop owner, and a trails planner for Bend Parks. The panel discussed applicable Oregon laws, maintenance and repair issues, education about proper e-bike riding, and other issues created by the increased use of e-bikes on roads and trails.
