“Lawyers don’t take disability cases until you’ve been denied at least once.”
You’ve heard that, right? And in general, it’s true. Frankly, the amount of work it takes to do a GOOD application and the amount of likely pay for that work just doesn’t make it worth it. Some lawyers will tell you that they help with applications but they usually simply sign you up for an interview with Social Security, something you can easily do yourself. You don’t need to pay someone to do that. Hint: the folks that do this are likely to be the same lawyers who advertise on television.
But we believe that with real effort, your application can be one that makes the SSA/DDS analysts think twice before denying it. That will be because your application is thorough, detailed, complete in its information, avoids key words that cause applications to be denied (more on that in another blog in the future), and may even be accompanied by a letter from your treating doctor that your lawyer has prepared.
We’re trying our theory out in a pilot project, to see if we can help folks get approved right from the beginning.
Here’s the exciting news. So far, our pilot project has had 100% success to date. Now we’ve only done it for four people so far. So we can’t say it proves anything yet.
But we’re thrilled about the opportunity to help folks get benefits way sooner than if they have to wait 2 years until a hearing.
Stay tuned; we’ll keep sharing our results!
