Most of my clients have been waiting for over two years before they finally get to present their case to an administrative law judge (ALJ). After such a long wait, and with so much riding on the outcome, many of my clients are nervous about what questions they might be asked in their hearing.
Every ALJ is different, so it is important that the client and their lawyer discuss what specific questions the judge assigned to hear the case is prone to ask. That said, there are a few key questions that most judges ask and you should be ready to answer if you are presenting your case to an ALJ:
- When did you last work?
- Why did your last job end?
- How do you spend an average day?
- What keeps you from doing any kind of full time work?
